Bike Week 2024

National Bike Week event in Mountrath
National Bike Week is coming up from the 11th - 19th of May this year and we are planning a great fun day for children here in Mountrath Health & Fitness Academy.
Saturday 11th May 12 pm- 2.30 pm
For kids 6-12 years
Warm up before cycling on our bikes kindly lent by Laois Sports Partnership
Cycle our fun Obstacle Course in our Basketball and Tennis courts
Learn about bike maintenance and repairs from Bikers Shed
Get some First Aid tips from a First Aid team
Get free hi-visibility gear sent by the Road Safety Authority RSA Ireland
Refreshments too!

Christmas in the Convent is our big annual family event.

We have a massive market with lots of beautiful locally made craft and food stalls a great chance to shop local, get special gifts and meet all in the community.

Digital First Communities Day

BloomHQ are proud to be hosting a Digital First Community day in partnership with Digital Ireland Network. Digital First day is a national crowdsourced series of events via panel discussion, meetup, and workshops takes place on 16th November 2022 highlighting how communities, small businesses, and social enterprises can leverage the benefits of digitalisation.

This national initiative reflects the objectives of the Government and the EU in respect of rural economic development, the circular economy, social enterprises as agents of change in society, the digital decade, and more.

Hospitality Skills for 14 - 17 year olds

BloomHQ in conjunction with the Siol Foundation present a skill building workshop for teenagers aged 14yrs to 17 yrs. Focusing on skills such as:

coffee production & ethical coffee roasting & barista skills

cv writing and interview skills

Table setting and order taking

How to read a payslip and register on the MyGov.ie website

Basic introduction to Microsoft software for business

Places are limited and a waiting list is in place for further courses.
